This trail starts in Quadrazais, and it is necessary to take the detour towards the River Côa (1.2 km of unmarked route), joining the GRVC on the left bank of the river. From this point onwards the trail climbs through the mountains and forests of the Serra da Malcata Nature Reserve towards Alto da Machoca, a site with outstanding views over Côa and the city of Sabugal. From here, the GRVC descends to Malcata, where the village’s community oven can be visited. Finally, the route runs along the south bank of Sabugal reservoir. Before arriving at Sabugal, it is possible to get on to the river beach and visit the Zé Ricardo mill. This trail ends at Sabugal Castle, inside the city. This trail uses some of routes 2 and 3 of the Sabugal MTB centre.
